PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
- GENERAL PHILOSOPHY
-
Your pet is very special to you, just as you are very special to your pet.
That's why you'll find that Cottage Veterinary Hospital takes time to get
to know you both. We realize that no two pets or owners are alike. Our
goal is to help you and your animal develop your own unique happy and
healthy friendship.
We're here to as a partner in your pet's health care. Our first concern
is to work with you to keep your pet healthy through good diet, exercise
and appropriate preventive care. If your pet does become sick or injured,
we'll continue to work closely with you in deciding on a course of
treatment and we'll make sure you're ready to continue whatever care is
necessary.
In short, both you and your animal are special to us. We care for
your animal, but we can't do it without you.
- ANIMALS TREATED / SERVICES PERFORMED
-
Cottage Veterinary Hospital is a complete medical, diagnostic, dental and
surgical facility for small animals. Our services include laboratory blood
work, onsite x-rays general gas anesthesia for surgical procedures and
kennel facilities for in-house hospitalization. We have referral abilities
to specialists in the Denver metro area should the need arise. We treat
dogs, cats, birds, rodents and reptiles.
- APPOINTMENT ETIQUETTE
-
We do require appointments except, of course, in case of emergency. It may
also be helpful to know that we perform routine surgeries on Mondays and
Thursdays.
Please be prompt for appointments so that other clients will not be kept
waiting. Also, be sure that your pet is under control at all times in the
waiting area. Dogs should be leashed (leashes are provided outside the
entrance door), and cats or other small animals should be in carriers.
If you are bringing in an animal that may have a contagious disease,
please check-in first without your animal. We can arrange to bring your
pet in without exposing other waiting animals to the illness.
- EMERGENCIES
-
Although we always hope it will never happen to one of our patients,
animals do occasionally become severely injured or ill. During office
hours we'll see your pet immediately, but call first if at all possible.
- PAYMENT
-
Payment is expected at the time of service unless previous arrangements
have been made with the doctor. We accept VISA, MasterCard, personal checks
and cash. We do not bill for services.
You'll find that we usually give estimates for services before your pet is
treated. Please feel free to discuss fees with Dr. Eckles if
you have any concerns.
- SURGERIES
-
If your pet is scheduled for routine surgery, plan to bring him or her to
the hospital before 9:00 AM on the day of surgery. Your pet will spend the
night in the hospital and normally be ready to go home the next day. We'll
be sure that you have complete instructions on any special home care that
may be needed following surgery. If we have not seen your animal prior to
a routine surgery, we do require a pre-surgical physical exam. This exam
is included in the cost of the surgery.
- BOARDING
-
We have limited boarding space for healthy animals that we reserve for our
clients. We suggest you make reservations early and be sure your pet is
fully vaccinated.
